My research has convinced me that radical social change is reshaping work and opportunity in today’s global 24/7 environment. At the heart of this change is a revolution in human expectations. This revolution affects every kind of organization–- corporations, small businesses, nonprofits, associations, professional services, education, the military, law enforcement.
To achieve success, leaders must understand the causes, impact, and implications of this revolution.Giving them insights into how to do so is my goal.
I describe five trends transforming organizations
- Traditional barriers erode
- Customers ask what about me?
- Organizations must do more with less
- Change defines every day
- Balance becomes an issue for everybody
I show what these trends mean for leaders:
- Leaders must practice inclusion
- Leaders must lead people with different values
- Leaders must harness the power of broad-scale notice
- Leaders must find ways to see around the corners
- Leaders must support sustainable practice
My aim in this seminar is to help leaders translate their understanding of the new environment into a strategic agenda that moves their organizations powerfully forward. I focus on defining achievable skills and practices and clearly describe the new tasks that leading in 24/7 demands.
